Roorkee: Genesis Quantum University Innovation Council, an Incubator of Quantum University, Roorkee has recently organized its 2nd edition of Start-Up Award Ceremony 2024 as a part of its commitment to promoting entrepreneurship. The ceremony was designed to recognize and celebrate the exceptional achievements of various startups that have excelled in their respective domains. The Award Ceremony, was hosted by Genesis with an initiative to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to thrive in the dynamic world of entrepreneurship.The event was a grand celebration of entrepreneurial spirit and innovation that brought together a diverse audience consisting of distinguished guests, industry professionals, investors, and some of the brightest minds in the startup world.
The event also welcomed Mr. Vasishta Chary, a highly successful entrepreneur, a seasoned Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy consultant, and founder of Thybookbox, who awarded the top 6 startups of the day. Of the 6, 3 startups are led by women, namely Ms Sania for Eidetic, Taruna Mondal for Munchy Cereal Puffs, and Dimple Kumari for Sanitary Pads. Other startup winners were Akshay Choudhary’s Smart Home Security, Mukund Dev’s Roof Garden, and Ritik Raj’s Speed Pe, who all presented their innovative ideas to a distinguished panel after going through a rigorous selection process. Each of the winning start-ups received a grant cheque of Rs. 50,000/- from the university’s startup fund.
The initiative provided the business aspirants with a chance to gain recognition and allowed them to demonstrate their talents and ideas to industry experts. Mr. Amit Dixit, Registrar of Quantum University, firmly believes in complete student development across all domains. He said, “I believe this initiative will significantly enhance students’ learning experiences, equipping them with the skills to create their own businesses and drive economic growth.”
Additionally, the event introduced the upcoming initiative, the “Young Innovators Challenge 2024”- an event for the school students from age 13- 18 years old that will provide them with a platform to showcase their business ideas in front of the jury. The university also organized a cultural fest, Dharohar-24, featuring the Prototype Expo and Prototype Demo Day under Srijan-2024. This event saw participation from over 30 start-ups from various universities, showcasing their innovative prototypes.
Quantum University’s incubation cell, Genesis, is recognized by Startup Uttarakhand, Department for the Government of Uttarakhand and MSME. Known as a hub for entrepreneurship and innovation, Genesis marks a significant step in Quantum University’s dedication to nurturing future business leaders. Both are committed to regularly organizing events that support budding entrepreneurs and students, providing them with excellent networking opportunities.
