I remember when I was a kid, I used to be the mechanic of my house. Whatever electrical device deteriorated, I was fond of repairing it. Not only at home but my popularity got highlighted in the entire colony.
When I turned 19 and was ready to join the university, I had only one question in mind – Will my dream take a flight? because I never wanted to compromise with my career. This is an obvious question that arises in the minds of the freshers before joining the college. I had decided to take admission at Quantum University in Roorkee. I took B. Tech in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning as this program resembled my interest. The program was in collaboration with Xebia, which is a specialized global IT consultancy and service company based in the Netherlands.
Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning is a field where systems work, learn, and improve from experience without being programmed in depth. Machines can execute tasks smartly. AI is a combination of computer science and robust datasets, to enable problem-solving. After joining the university I had an aim in mind to join and set my career in an MNC – “Amazon“.
In my last year, I got the opportunity to work with the professionals at Xebia as a Machine learning intern. During my internship, I learned about the widened scope of artificial intelligence in the industry. This stimulated me more to become one of the best Machine learning scientists. I learned AI through an array of creative methods and technologies. The advanced curriculum made me familiarized with the nuances of automation, data analysis, pattern recognition, and other related areas in the field. I was provided with hands-on training and grew as per the industrial needs.
The advanced knowledge, industrial training, and new-age curriculum provided me with skills that were expected by recruiters. During the last semester, several global companies visited the campus and offered a number of lucrative jobs to us. Coincidently, Amazon was a part of the campus drive. It was also planning to make use of artificial intelligence and rebuild itself. My excitement had no boundaries. I was eagerly waiting to get interviewed by the professionals of Amazon. As I was quick in understanding and learning the concepts & algorithms of AI & Machine Learning, I was fortunate to get selected.
I am presently working as a Machine Learning Scientist at Amazon. I am working on designing new AI systems that would run automatically for predictive models. Machine Learning is one of the demanding jobs as the skills are in high demand. In terms of salary and growth, it is a preferred job profile by the youth. One must choose a collaborative program at the time of admission as it not only boosts confidence but also develops higher-level thinking skills. Go for a university that is directly linked with industries aiming to groom students for a bright corporate career.
